Jared McCormick

Jared McCormick is a PhD Candidate in Social Anthropology at Harvard University. He obtained his MA at the American University of Beirut and his BA at Boston University.

H is dissertation explores male mobility and sexuality in the context of Lebanon – thinking through emigration and the development of the tourism industry. Fieldwork in Beirut was supported by the Wenner Gren Foundation and a Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius “Settling Into Motion” Fellowship. He is currently writing his dissertation in Cairo supported by a Dissertation Completion Fellowship from Harvard University. He is also a co-founder/co-director of marra.tein, a residency space in Beirut.
