Jason Ritchie is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Florida International University. His work is broadly motivated by an interest in understanding how structures of power and violence are written on—and maintained through the organization of—human bodies, especially those bodies marked as dangerous, different, or diseased. He has researched and written about queerness, race, and power in Israel-Palestine and is currently completing a book on the subject called Queer Checkpoints.
