Kate Washington. Independent consultant with UNHCR MENA bureau – Vulnerability and Targeting Specialist.
Kate Washington has been living and working in the Middle East for over 14 years. Currently, she is a technical advisor to UNHCR MENA region with a focus on non-camp based Syrian Refugees. Prior to joining UNHCR, Ms. Washington was the CARE Jordan Syrian Refugee Program director and led multiple research assessments on refugees in Jordan. Before the Syrian crisis Ms. Washington worked on various Iraqi refugee related projects and was an independent researcher. She holds a Master of Sciences degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
Her talk is titled, “What Vulnerability Modelling Can and Can’t Do: Using data to design and target assistance for Syrian Refugees in the MENA region.”
