Yıldız Tar is an LGBTİ activist, journalist and author. Worked with several LGBTI organizations including Kaos GL, Lambdaistanbul, İstanbul LGBTT Solidarity Association, LuBUnya Boğaziçi University LGBTİ organization. Main activism areas are media, transgender rights and hate murders. As a journalist, worked in many different places including Etkin News Agency (etha.com.tr), weekly Atilim newspaper, Ozgur Radyo, Bianet (bianet.org) and Kaos GL magazine and web portal (kaosgl.org).

They continue working with Kaos GL as an editor in chief and occasionally writes to Bianet, daily newspapers including Radikal, Birgun, Ozgur Gundem and Evrensel. They wrote a book named “Yoldaş Ben İbneyim/ Comrade I am Faggot” covers their interviews with different leftist organizations’ leaders about LGBTI movement and Gezi resistance.
